French vs. American

Original versus New. Take your pick! This song, Chick Habit , written by Serge Gainsbourg, was recently re-popularized by the Quentin Tarantino film, Deathproof, in which it was performed by April March (real name Elinor Blake), an American Indie -pop singer. Each version has it's merits. For some it may be simple to decide the winning choice, for others, not so easy.



Tidbit- Serge Gainsbourg was married to Jane Birkin, for whom the much coveted Hermès "Birkin bag" is named for. Together they had a daughter, actor/singer Charlotte Gainsbourg. The two also had a famous hit song, "Je t'aime... moi non plus" (links to Wikipedia).
